Asbestos Disposal Greensborough- Commercial Development Project

Project Background

A recent asbestos disposal Greensborough project featured the removal and disposal of 300 sqm worth of asbestos PVC tiles.

Southstar were excited to be involved in the commercial development project which was located in the main town centre strip of Greensborough in Melbourne’s north region.

The site (previously occupied by Bendigo Bank) is in the process of transforming into a new up and coming Malaysian restaurant.

Removal of PVC Tiles & Partition walls

Southstar removed the asbestos PVC tiles laying beneath the carpet which covered the entire area.

The work also included a full strip out of the carpet covering the area in most parts and the demolition of partition walls. Partition walls were demolished not only to suit the client’s floor plan requirements but also to allow access for removing for the PVC tiles underneath these sections.

The asbestos removal & demolition project took five days to complete. The building which was once a segregated space has now been transformed into one large floor area ready for the next phase in the development project: Concrete to be sanded and polished.

After the removal & demolition, the  site was inspected and passed by an independent occupational hygienist. Southstar Asbestos Removals and the client were provided with the asbestos clearance certificate assuring the client that the area was 100% asbestos free.
